Lightblinded Vanguard Heroic Down!

Lightblinded Vanguard Heroic Down!

WoW Guild EU progression – Voidspire

The Light finally looked away long enough for us to get this one down!

Lightblinded Vanguard is a council-style fight in Voidspire, with Commander Venel Lightblood, General Amias Bellamy, and War Chaplain Senn all active at the same time. There is a lot going on, but once you get used to the order of the abilities, the fight becomes much more manageable.

As usual, along with the kill video, we’ve put together a list of tips and tricks on how to defeat Lightblinded Vanguard on Heroic difficulty in Voidspire.

The most important thing to remember is that all three bosses need to die close together. If one dies too early, the remaining bosses start ramping their damage, so keep an eye on boss health and swap targets when needed.

Preparation
  • This is a great fight for cleave and multi-dot classes, as all three bosses are active for most of the encounter.
  • Assign interrupts for Blinding Light after War Chaplain Senn’s Sacred Shield is broken.
  • Make sure players understand who will be closest to War Chaplain Senn for Tyr’s Wrath, so the healing absorbs do not keep stacking on the same people.
  • Plan healing cooldowns for the heavy raid damage moments, especially Sacred Toll, Searing Radiance, and later aura windows.
  • Use Heroism/Bloodlust on pull, but remember that Bellamy and Senn can become immune early, so avoid wasting all cooldowns into shields.

Changes from Normal to Heroic
  • Permanent Consecration

On Heroic, when a boss finishes their 100 energy aura ability, they leave a permanent Consecration puddle where they are standing. Tanks need to move the correct boss towards the edge before their aura starts, otherwise the room can become messy very quickly.

  • Execution Sentence

This happens much faster on Heroic. Spread the targeted players, have enough people soak each circle, and do not overlap them, as players hit take massively increased damage from additional Execution Sentences.

Besides these changes, the fight plays the same as on Normal, but mistakes are punished much harder because of the extra space control and ramping raid damage.

Key Points to Watch
  • Boss Health

Keep the three bosses relatively even. Do not let one boss fall far behind or die too early, as the remaining bosses will become increasingly dangerous.

  • 100 Energy Auras

The bosses reach 100 energy in a fixed order, starting with Bellamy, then Venel, then Senn. Move the boss that is about to use their aura to the edge of the room before it happens.

  • Aura of Devotion

General Bellamy reduces damage taken by allies in her aura. Do not tunnel bosses standing inside it, and watch for the waves of shields from Divine Toll. Getting hit can silence you, which is especially dangerous for healers.

  • Aura of Wrath

Commander Venel increases Holy damage done by nearby allies. Keep bosses separated during this window, and be ready for heavier raid damage.

  • Aura of Peace

War Chaplain Senn protects allies inside the aura. Avoid attacking protected targets, as this can pacify you and stop you from doing anything useful at a bad time.

  • Execution Sentence

Targeted players need to spread out, and each circle needs to be soaked by multiple players. Once it lands, immediately dodge the Divine Hammers that spiral out from the impact locations.

  • Sacred Shield and Blinding Light

Swap quickly to War Chaplain Senn’s shield, break it, then interrupt Blinding Light. If the cast goes through, the raid takes heavy damage and gets disoriented.

  • Tyr’s Wrath

This applies healing absorbs to the closest players. Rotate who is closest or have assigned players handle it, but do not let the same players take repeated stacks unless your healers are ready for it.

  • Tank Swaps

Tanks need to swap after Judgment and before the follow-up hit. Venel follows with Final Verdict, while Bellamy follows with Shield of the Righteous.

  • Avenger’s Shield and Divine Toll

Avoid stacking too tightly, dodge the shield waves, and be ready to dispel or heal through the damage when needed.
