Fallen-King Salhadaar Heroic Down!

Ok, let’s see if he stays dead this time! 😀
After giving us a pretty rough time last tier, it seems King Salhadaar has lost his mojo, we made quick work of him this time around.
As usual, along with the kill video, we’ve put together a list of tips and tricks on how to defeat him on Heroic difficulty in Voidspire.
To begin with, this is a single-phase fight.
Salhadhar will spawn Concentrated Void Orbs at regular intervals from the three gates around the room. You’ll need to kill them before they reach the boss. Each time, a random combination of two orbs will spawn.

Preparation

• Spread cleave classes excel in this fight, so it’s good to have some, but for Heroic it’s not strictly necessary.
• Make sure you are specced into abilities like interrupts and CC (Ring of Peace, Grips, etc.) to handle Fractured Projection.
• Assign healing cooldowns for Entropic Unraveling when the boss reaches 100 energy.

Changes from Normal to Heroic

Dark Radiation

When an orb is killed, it applies an 8-second DoT to all players. Stagger orb deaths to avoid overlaps and give healers time to recover.

Shattering Twilight

In addition to the tank, more players are targeted. Move away from the raid and make sure your spike lines are not aimed through the group.

Besides these changes, the fight plays the same as on Normal.

Key Points to Watch

Despotic Command

This hits hard on Heroic with current gear levels. Use a personal, drop puddles at the edges, but stay close enough for healers to reach you.

Orb Death Damage

There is additional raid damage when orbs die, make sure healers are ready with cooldowns.

Entropic Unraveling

Hits significantly harder than on Normal:

• Healing cooldowns are effectively mandatory
• Use personals
• Position the boss towards the side of the room

The boss will leave a puddle after this ability, and with higher DPS requirements on Heroic, poor positioning can quickly run you out of space. Tanks need to plan positioning carefully.
