Vorasius Mythic Down!
Vorasius Mythic Down!
WoW Guild EU progression
Off to a strong start this tier, first two Mythic bosses down in the same day!
This one is very spicy on Mythic, especially for a first kill. Thankfully, the tactics remain simple and very similar to Heroic. The real challenge is squeezing every ounce of DPS and HPS to beat the enrage.
As usual, we’ve put together our strategy covering positioning, assignments, and the key tips we gathered during progression.
Positioning
Typically, most players stand slightly behind the tanks to avoid tank mechanics while staying close enough to benefit from AoE healing.
However, there’s one detail many overlook: the Aftershock rings do not extend indefinitely. They stop roughly where most ranged DPS would normally be positioned at max range.
Use this to your advantage.
Have your ranged players position themselves as shown in the markers. This gives a noticeable DPS gain, which matters a lot given how tight the check is. Just make sure you assign a healer to cover that group.

For everyone else, standard Heroic positioning works fine.
Another key point: during intermission, adds leave puddles that expand when they die. This means:
- You want to kill them against the wall
- You also want to kill them on top of each other for each intermission
If you don’t, you’ll quickly run out of space for later waves.

Our approach:
- First set: killed relatively far from the boss
- Second set: stacked next to the first puddles
- Final set: killed close to the boss
That last set is risky, but we did it to maximise boss cleave and push damage for the enrage.

Healing & Damage Patterns
Healing is a major factor in this fight. There are specific moments where you need proper cooldown rotations:
1) Parasite Expulsion
At the start of intermission, the boss casts this as adds spawn.
Moderate to high raid-wide damage, plan light CDs here.
2) Blisterburst
Every add death triggers an explosion dealing heavy damage.
Do not kill all adds at once, stagger them to avoid wiping the raid.
3) Dark Energy
At the end of each intermission, the boss channels a beam while heavy AoE damage pulses every 0.5 seconds for ~15 seconds.
This is your biggest healing check.
You need:
- Proper healing CD rotation
- External mitigation (e.g. AMZ, Darkness, etc.)
- Coverage for the entire duration, not just the start
Bonus Tip
If the boss is below ~12% when the final intermission starts and your raid is still alive, you can ignore the intermission mechanics and commit to a full burn.
At this point, your second potions should be available, so pop everything and nuke the boss. You’ll comfortably kill it before Dark Energy (beam) becomes a problem.
