Belo’ren Heroic Down!
Belo’ren Heroic Down!
WoW Guild EU progression
From Sunwell, to Lightwell, to Darkwell… I wonder what the ultimate fate of this well will be.
I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
The March on Quel’Danas is now underway and, due to a small error on my part, we stepped straight into Heroic rather than Normal. By the time we realized, we decided to just embrace it and face the mighty bird. So, forgive us for not having a Normal overview for this one.
As usual, we’ve prepared some positioning images along with a couple of tips we picked up during progression.
There are a few ways of handling Bloodlust and CDs on this fight. Our approach was to hold everything at the start (unless a CD was under one minute) and then unleash all CDs, including Bloodlust and pots, on the egg during the intermission. On our first kill this wasn’t enough to one-phase it, but we brought it down to around 25–28%, which made it easy to finish at the start of the second intermission.
With more gear, this will likely turn into a fight where you just blast the egg in the first intermission and call it a day.
Tips:
- Always track your debuff. The boss casts this at the start and swaps it roughly every 40 seconds during the main phase. Have someone call out Voidlight Convergence, as this applies and swaps the debuff raid-wide each time it’s cast.
- Soak according to your colour — light with light, void with void. There’s no issue if you briefly touch someone of the opposite colour.
- You don’t need 10 people in each soak. Assign mobile DPS (like hunters) to prioritize soaking orbs that are encroaching towards the raid.
- Soak positioning is key. Try to place them towards the wall as shown in the images. From Phase 2 onwards, you’ll get two soaks (one per colour). At that point, priority shifts to clearing orbs quickly and placing the two soaks next to each other — not in front of each other (learned that the hard way). Clean orb control = better visibility and less panic movement.
- In Phase 1, depending on DPS, you might get a second soak. Don’t panic. Handle it properly (sometimes it won’t even leave a puddle), then grip the phoenix on top of the egg and cleave it while focusing the egg with BL and CDs.
For positioning, please refer to the images below. Also, if you want to copy the raid plans below, here is a link for you https://raidplan.io/plan/3c35kqqskypwhjqd.
That’s all — keep puddles tidy and towards the wall, have tanks position the boss away from the raid, and you’re golden.
