GK All-Nighter vol. XV – Voidspire & Dreamrift
GK All-Nighter vol. XV – Voidspire & Dreamrift
Our first Top 500 in the world for Ahead of the Curve is now a fact. Who knows, maybe in a few tiers we’ll also be rocking Top 500 Cutting Edge :p
Our 15th All-Nighter was a smashing success, landing us a full clear of Normal & Heroic Dreamrift, as well as a full Normal clear and 2/7 Heroic in Voidspire. With a hard-earned Ahead of the Curve on Chimaerion, we became the 336th WoW Guild in the world and the 230th WoW Guild in the EU to achieve this, all within a span of just 6 hours!
In the brand-new world of raiding without WeakAuras, I must say Blizzard really nailed the difficulty. Interesting tactics that challenge you without needing a master’s in astrophysics to figure things out.
We had great fun and picked up a lot of valuable experience along the way, so we’ve put together a tips list to help you with your first kills:
Dreamrift
For both Normal & Heroic
Main Phase
- When adds are up, always focus DPS on the Colossal Horror and cleave the smaller ones down through it.
- Use CC on the smaller adds to keep them close to the Colossal Horror and away from the boss.
- Interrupt Fearsome Cry from the Haunting Essence.
- Practice from Normal by having two separate alternating groups for the Rift Realm to prepare for Heroic.
Intermission
- Dodge the breath on the ground.
- Follow the same add-handling approach as in the Rift Realm.
Heroic Only
- Be vocal about dispels.
- Clear the gold puddles by getting dispelled right next to them.
- Call when you’re in position and make sure no one is in your circle when the dispel goes off.
Voidspire
Imperator Averzian
- Make sure your tank knows how to play Tic-Tac-Toe.
- Assign someone to call out safe areas during Shadow Phalanx in the intermission.
Heroic Only
- Tank adds at least 10 yards away from the boss so they don’t buff it.
Vorasius
- Do not stand in Shadowclaw Slam (blue circle) unless you are a tank.
- Dodge the earth rings.
- Split the raid in two groups for intermission: one left, one right.
- Assign someone to call directions to avoid Void Breath.
Fallen King Salhadhar
- Place three markers for the spawning points of Concentrated Void Orbs.
- Assign a callout for which orb to kill first.
- Drop Despotic Command debuffs on the edge:
- Use a personal.
- Stay on the edge closest to the raid so healers can reach you.
- Interrupt all Fractured Projections.
- Assign healing cooldowns for Entropic Unraveling (beam phase).
Vaelgar and Ezzorak
- Keep the raid positioned between the two drakes.
- Use speed boosts to break Nullzone tethers.
- Assign two healers near Vaelgar to quickly dispel Dread Breath (tank or targeted player).
- Always face Dread Breath away from the raid.
- Practice in Normal with two alternating soak groups for Gloom (prep for Heroic).
Lightblinded Vanguard
- Move out with Avenger’s Shield and avoid hitting others with your circle.
- Dispel the debuff from Avenger’s Shield ASAP.
- Mark healers and assign one per group.
- For Execution Sentence, each group soaks with their assigned healer. Watch out for the hammers after.
- Stay relatively close to the bosses so Senn doesn’t charge too far when casting Sacred Shield.
- Interrupt her as soon as the shield breaks.
Crown of the Cosmos
Phase 1
- Kill Demiar then Vorelus and then Morium.
- Use the first set of Silver Arrows on Demiar and Vorelus, and the second set on Morium.
Intermission 1 & 2
- Dodge everything.
- Use raid speed boosts (Roar, etc.) to counter the pull.
- No need to clear Stellar Emission stacks on Normal.
Phase 2
- Tank the simulacrum in the middle and Alleria near the edge.
- Ranged stack at the edge, with Alleria in front of them.
- Melee stand between Alleria and the simulacrum.
- Rotate as a group (clockwise or counterclockwise) as space fills with puddles.
- Interrupt adds and hit them with Silver Arrows, or they won’t die.
Phase 3
- Use BL here.
- Stack together and move as a group for Grasp of Emptiness.
- For Aspect of the End:
- Ranged break first tether
- Melee second
- Tank last
- Run over one of the arrows at the edge so you can jump when Devouring Cosmos happens.
And this folks is just the start! Stay tuned for more.
